It's Official - God's Involved

I've been wanting and needing to take a minute to drop you all a little note.  God has been doing some really great things in the last few weeks and now you're gonna hear about it.☺  The last three weeks have been busy as usual but I 've been able to spend time with a lot of people and the Lord has blessed me so much through these relationships.

Hopefully when I write you guys don't get tired of hearing just how good God is and how I can see him moving in my life.  If so, that's too bad.  Haha.  Just kidding.  After the last year, I can now look back and see that God brought me out of a pit to get me where I am now, so I'm gonna praise His name!  Know that your prayers and financial support are working to fulfill God's will in my life and in the lives of so many others.  I treasure you!  You must know that YOU are keeping me here and I appreciate you all so much!

The last year has been challenging but I haven't until recently been able to take an honest look back and say that God's leadership is perfect in my life and hard times are necessary.  I remember praying, “God cleanse me.  Purify my heart.”  Well...I got what I asked for.  I must have thought purification was a clean and painless process.  Oh contrare!  But how necessary!  John 15:2 comes to mind where Jesus purges the vine.  Let me encourage you if you are feeling purged and uncomfortable, seek Him out like hidden treasure.  He is faithful to complete what He has begun and His benefits are well worth the process.  Believe it or not, God's involved in the process of our lives and cares deeply about us.

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of singing at a wedding of a friend from college in Great Bend, Kansas.  I spent the weekend between Hays and Great Bend.  Throughout the entire weekend, every time I turned around, God either blessed me with a conversation, a new revelation of Himself or allowed me to be a blessing.  It was by far a “Top 5” weekend.  Proverbs 16:9 says, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”  In a nut shell, that weekend was my Proverbs 16:9...and it was glorious!

I want to encourage you guys to come visit me and see the House of Prayer here in Kansas City.  I have posted a couple videos on this page of what the prayer room looks like.  I want you to know and be able to recognize the impact that you are having by sowing into my ministry.  Take a look and/or let me know if you ever want to come visit...I would love to have your company.

I appreciate you so much!  Blessings upon blessings to you and your family during Christmas and New Years.  Hope to run into you soon!

October, where are you?

Although I can't hardly believe it, today is the first of November.  I write that in astonishment and think where did October go?  I mean, seriously!  We just finished up our third modular class and have a week of service coming up.  I'll be working with the children's ministry all next week helping paint, organize and work with the kids.  That should be interesting...

I hope you all got my October support letter.  God is really doing some amazing things here in Kansas City.  The other night there were a few of us hanging out and I felt the only place I needed to be was with the Lord.  So, I went to the Prayer Room and went home around 5 a.m.  I told a friend of mine, "I sat in the same spot for more than two hours...that's a miracle."  You guys probably know that I may be the most fidgety person you will ever meet.  Either way, my heart was so struck and I couldn't leave.  I tell you what, staying up until 5 will really wreck your sleeping habits though!

My roommate Danielle left for The Call in San Diego, CA, Friday.  For more info on The Call, click thecall.com.  It's been a little lonely around here without her.  She gets back on Sunday and another friend, Heidi (who's been staying with us), and I are going to pick her up from the airport.  Dang, I miss that girl!

Just wanted to shortly thank everyone that has sent prayers out to our family when Grandma, Treva Crabill, passed away two weeks ago.  She was such an amazing woman!  I remember the funny names she always used to call us...Bladderskiders...as we were sliding down the slipper-slide on wax paper.  Where she came up with that remains a mystery.  But thank you to all you guys who have been thinking of us.  I have a wonderful family and was able to enjoy them while I was home for the funeral.

Bless you all!  Hope to hear from you soon!

Thank You

It's the end of another week.  I get to Thursday (which is the last day of our regular classes) and find myself wondering where the week has gone.  We're now in our second module schedule which is under Corey Russell.  He's a powerful man of God and very gifted in preaching the Word.

Along with finding myself wondering where the weeks go, I get lost in the reality that I'm in the midst of this amazing community while going to school.  I forget how fortunate I am to be here.  I remember last year, about this time, visiting the Prayer Room and itching to visit as much as possible.  I don't know that I can explain the joy I have being smack-dab in the middle of where I feel the Lord has placed me for this season in life.  Even as I sit here in the Prayer Room, writing this entry, I lose track of how incredibly fortunately I am.  Oh how God loves us!

Thank you guys for your support and prayers.  Each of them make it possible for me to be here.  Something I want to express is that by sending support, you haven't simply enabled me to be in an environment that helps me thrive, but you have “sown” a seed* into the Kingdom of God that will help to spread His Name throughout the Earth.  Our reward is not of this world, but in Heaven...amen?  As the next season of support raising is about to come about, for next semester, I wanted to express this.

Bless you all!  You're so dear!

Modular Schedule for Fall 08 Semester

I know some of you were wondering what my schedule looks like day to day.  This is the schedule of my classes for this semester.  We have class from 9 am to 12 pm Monday through Thursday.  Every month, the class changes.

August – Excellencies of Christ

September – Eternal Glory of an Intercessor

October – Foundations of Eschatology

November – Song of Solomon

December - FINALS

I also have choir at 8 am Tuesday and Thursday and Prayer Room Practicum 9 am to 12 pm on Fridays.

The most incredible part of being here has been the required Prayer Room hours, 24 per week.  A friend of mine once asked me what I do.  Read, pray, worship, listen, etc. I explained.  "I want to know exactly what you're praying for," he said.  So, a non-exhaustive list is as follows: end of abortion, salvation of three friends, Sarah Palin and the Presidential race, healing, human trafficking, for the uniting of Bride of Christ, new revelation...on and on it goes.  Email me for an exhaustive list.  If you're interested in my homework, I'll let you in on that too.  =)

So that's what my day is made up of, approximately 50 hours a week.  It's a handful, but so rewarding.  Bless you guys as you go through your day!  Send your prayer requests my way...I have some time to be lifting them up alongside you.

So Great Is His Love

During class today, Allen Hood talked of Jesus and His love.  I am now sitting in the prayer room, (which I encourage you to check out the links to the RIGHT to see what it's like) I can't help but think of the incubator I am in, being at the International House of Prayer.

How could you not fall in love with Him here?

He continues to reveal Himself in ways I cannot describe in words.

I hope to put one of the messages online for you to hear, if you would like.  I am everyday ever more grateful for your prayers and support.  Thank you for getting me here.  Much love, Alexandra

HEY HEY HEY! God is GOOD!

It's hard to believe that I have been living in Kansas City for two weeks.  It has gone so fast!  Danielle and I were talking last night and I said, "I think I feel like I live here now."  =)  Thank you Jesus!

After two days of orientation, I went to Hays for a Luke and Sedera Sholtz's wedding.  It was such an amazing time to celebrate what God done in their lives with them!  Throughout orientation, I was blessed beyond measure!  People prayed for us, some received words of prophecy, we enrolled and talked with Student Affairs and campus administrators.  I have been praying for divine friendships and mentors as well as nothing to hinder my heart from being fully His during this time.  I know the reason I am studying at FMA is to be equipped for the calling on my life, so HOLD ON, Alexandra, the Lord is saying.  I'm going to be blow your mind!  =)

We are taking Modular Classes this semester, so for three weeks, I will be studying under Allen Hood "Excellencies of Christ."  WOAH!  What a class!  I left every class with so much revelation on the person of Jesus.  I've always known that when Jesus comes back, He will come as a man, but HE WILL COME AS A MAN!  I get it now!  How powerful!  Day 2  was incredible.  So much to share!  We're reading through Matthew this week.  Gotta love those words in RED!

One thing I underestimated was the quality of people at the International House of Prayer.  I found out that 1,500 people auditioned for FMA and only 150 were admitted.  God will make a way where seems to be no way!  Even after waiting five months to hear back on my audition, I am able to join them and I'm so grateful to be here!

Blessings beyond what you can think or imagine!  God continues to provide financially.  I pray that the overflow of His love poured out to you blesses those around you.  Thanks for being a blessing to me!  Much love - Alexandra

Home Sweet Home

Danielle (my roommate) and I settled in to our new abode as of Sunday here in Kansas City.  What a wonderful place to call home!  I hope to put a video up soon to show you.  Currently, our living room is filled with trash from our last Target run.  Danielle figures it will take three days for us to clear the room.  I'm hoping it doesn't take that long.  =)

Danielle and I have been getting to know each other over the last 48 hours.  That poor girl doesn't know what she's in for!  =)  We're having a great time finding out all kinds of things about each other.

Orientation starts tomorrow!  I can't believe it's really happening.  I have known God was sending me to FMA for a long time, so the reality that it all begins tomorrow is pretty surreal.  Orientation will be Wednesday to Friday.  I'll let you know how it goes.  I have already met some amazing girls that are students here too.  Life's about to get a little more interesting, I have a feeling.

Blessings to you all...until next time...

July 19, 2008

Good morning!  I hope this finds you well and with expectant hearts of how God is moving through your continued prayers and financial support while I am preparing for FMA.  I wanted to take a moment to explain why I believe my going to school at FMA is so vital and important in the day that we live in and what exactly it is that you are helping fund.  I remember when I was seeking out and researching the school, feeling an urgency that I want to express.  It was as if God was saying that November, "It's time."

Suppose there is a bomb threat in your apartment building and you fear for your life.  What do you do?  Suppose your wife is involved in a head on collision.  What do you do?  Many would pray.  I've found that people pray when they feel their life depends on it, as if their well being lies in the balance upon the outcome of the circumstances.  Many times these prayers are answered in a way that is favorable to the individual, sometimes they are not.  Imagine if the people all over the earth would not only lift up requests to God for a promise of a favorable outcome, but would selflessly communicate with God and plead for the well being of our world, as though our lives depended on it.  Perhaps they do.

In 2 Chronicles 17, the Bible speaks of an "if, then" clause.  "If my people who are called by my name will HUMBLE themselves and pray, then I will hear from heaven and heal their land."  I believe that the land isn't only a physical land (which is very important to us, as we are farmers) but the land of the heart.  Look at our world today; full of heart ache and loss of identity.  I have thought for some time that those who are up against great adversity that their calling and destiny is proportional to their adversity.  Drugs, teenage pregnancy, abortion, same sex marriage, perversity, the list could go on and on.  What an opportunity to unite as a "dark and perverse generation" to worship before God and pray with sincerity of heart for revival across the world.

FMA's mission statement at http://www.ihop.org says, "Forerunner Music Academy exists to equip musicians to fearlessly proclaim the beauty of Jesus and His soon coming return. By God’s grace we will accomplish this through rigorous musical training, Biblical study, and a fervent pursuit of the spiritual disciplines. As a full-time music school we seek the fullness of God and the power of the Spirit through night and day prayer."

This is why I am perusing a education through the Forerunner Music Academy, to extend the hands of Jesus to the nations, through a lifestyle of prayer, worship and fasting, as though our lives depend on it.  I thoroughly believe that our lives do depend on the power behind the phenomenon of prayer which is intricately woven with worship through music.  In RED MOON RISING, authors Pete Greig and Dave Roberts write that God's "way of taking Jericho makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER...And yet [HIS] WAY WORKS."  Bringing revival to America and the rest of world may seem much bigger than a present day Jericho, but it starts with "ludicrous obedience."  Prayer sometimes doesn't always makes sense, but it's God's proven way of doing business.  It took Joshua's obedience and it takes our "yes" also.

Mind you, I don't have everything figured out, but the by the Holy Spirit's leading, I'm living out my vision day by day, which continues to develop.  Thank you again for you continued support while I ready myself for an intense season of life at FMA.  God has been so faithful to to provide financially and my current support is at about 40%; I am in need of about $1100 to raise prior to August 1st.  Feel free to email me at the link provided on this blog!  As I had mentioned in a previous entry, once I arrive at IHOP, I will set up an account so that donations can be made as tax deductable-ly.  Blessings and much love to you as you go through your day!

What Will July Bring?

Hello!

Wow how God has rocked me in the last few days!  He has been teaching me about obedience and leading me through a book about the movement of individuals who are drawn to a lifestyle of 24/7 prayer.  The book is RED MOON RISING and I would recommend it to anyone; it's amazing!  It so amazing to me how God continues to pore out His love to us, even though we are so unworthy.  Thank you Jesus for you amazing mercy and goodness!

I spent some time in Song of Solomon 4 and 5 this morning and listened to a little Kim Walker "How He Loves Us."  Oh how His love is astounding!

BREAKING NEWS: I have been matched with a roommate from Minnesota.  We still don't have an apartment, but I am hoping to go to Kansas City next week to take a peak.  She's spunky and the "fizz in the soda pop," so I can't see how we would ever get along.  =)  I'm sure you will see some video of us on this blog...things could get interesting!

My support at this point is at nearly 25% and I have been declaring Hebrews 10:23 over my finances - "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful!"  Hallelujah!

I appreciate all your prayers and financial support.  This summer has proved to be a summer of the absence of comfort and full of tribulation.  Praise God!  Much love and my deepest thanks go out to you.  You cannot imagine how you have blessed me!  Hoping to hear from, speak with or see you soon!

Raising Support

Dearest Supporters,

Hello to you all! I am so pleased to be writing you this day! The Lord has been working so mightily and vividly in my life in the last year. I have learned that God loves the process just as much as the product. In saying that, I want to inform you of where my life is headed.

I once heard a message where the pastor spoke of how he was riding a motorcycle and was about to go around a sharp turn. In that moment, he remembered what his riding instructor had said, “When you go around a corner, you have to focus on what is up ahead, not on your current circumstances.” Although my life has gone through numerous changes throughout the last year, I am called to remembrance that when life takes a turn, I have to focus on my future. My future is in Jesus.

Ever since I was little, I have known that the Lord has given me a magnificent gift of my voice to use for His glory. Throughout life, I have explored a lot of different outlets of using my instrument, but in October, I found a place where my spirit was stirred and my heart felt settled. This place is called the International House of Prayer, in Kansas City, Missouri. At the International House of Prayer (IHOP), they participate in a prayer
movement, holding prayer and worship 24 hours a day, praying for needs of our world and all the inhabitants that dwell therin. (Ps. 24:1)

“In the days of King David, he established a tabernacle that had singers and musicians who ministered to the Lord day and night. Today, the prayer movement is in the spirit of David’s Tabernacle. This means that the prayer movement will have some components of the Tabernacle of David, specifically pertaining to singers and musicians.”

There are two schools that operate out of the International House of Prayer: the Forerunner School of Ministry (FSM) and the Forerunner Music Academy (FMA). In December, I auditioned to become a student at FMA.

Four months later and still waiting to receive my acceptance letter, I asked yet again for prayer from friends. “Abraham believed and it was accounted to him for righteousness,” one friend prayed. Hallelujah! The Lord never changes His mind and is always faithful! Later that week, I received a phone call confirming my request. After nearly five months in waiting, I had been accepted!

When I talked to friends of family about going to Kansas City to study to become a worship leader, “That is a life altering decision,” and “This is going to change your life,” were the reactions I received. So, my life is
going to change. I can see, when I look at the past, how the Lord has been forming my life into one that has brought and is bringing him great glory! I would love for you to partner with me to advance His Kingdom by sponsoring me while I’m attending FMA. While I am in school, the expenses each semester are approximately $8,000 and financial aid is not available. The school work combined with activities required while enrolled at FMA is approximately 60 hours per week and after my first year, I will be able to have a job on campus.

In Matthew 6, Jesus gives us the perfect prayer, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” His will to be done on earth is continual worship, just as it is in heaven. Jesus preached His kingdom, not as something that is to come, but that it is “at hand,” and it is built inside each of us. (Mark 1:14)

I urge you to ask the Holy Spirit to help decide whether to support me as I go through school in Kansas City. A movement of individuals is surfacing. These individuals are devoted to scriptures such as Psalm 27:4, Psalm 71:8, Acts 15, Matthew 6:33 and Luke 18:7-8, just to name a few. I believe that when musicians and singers unite, that the prayer movement will move to transform our nation and world in a way that none can imagine. Won’t you join me in this journey?
